Department : Economics

Economics Department was created with the establishment of Government Post Graduate College, Gairsain in the 2001. The classes were started at the level of graduation in the year 2001.

The Economics Department has been encouraging the students in their academic endeavours since the very beginning. The classes of Economics were conducted at masters level since 2015. This has been extremely valuable for the students residing in the remote and interior hilly region, as it has given access to the students of this area to higher education in Economics at Postgraduate level. Most of the students enrolled in Economics at postgraduate level have passed out with first division. At present the economics department has three posts out of which two posts are occupied and one post is vacant.
